i'm putting together a soviet uniform, but the boots are hard to come by so i'm thinking of using low-boots with a pair of putties, i believe some soldiers still wore them through out the war. the breeches i have are 1950s but the only real differance is the colour is kind of a darkish karki and the matirial is slightly differant, I hope they would be alright to use... any help would be much appriciated.

Depending on if you just want jackboots to wear, mine are just East German Jackboots. Very reasonably priced and they still look the part. But the low boots and putties are good as well. They can take you from early to late war. You will always see soldiers who had early war uniforms all the way to the end. Ether from never getting a new uniform because they always kept moving up...well mainly that was the only reason. But anyways, soldiers got what they were issued, especially in the Soviet Army. haha!

The uniform is still correct. No one uniform really has the same exact color. Especially since they faded a lot due to wearing the every single day. Aside from it being a slightly darker shade, not too much was changed in the uniforms for a while after the war ended.

good to know, the only other differance is that the belt loops seem to be small, but it still has the coffin shaped knee sections, and as for putties i've got a couple of australian ww2 ones which are alil short, but i could probly get a couple more pairs and sew them together, they are a darker green tho

Try these websites out. I got some of my Russian gear from them and they are quick to ship and have great prices!

This first site has the thin web trouser belt for those small loop holes. [link]

This site has a lot of everything else for great prices as well! [link]

This is also the website I got my uniform and what not from. Very reasonable prices if you can sniff them out. [link]

That I wish I could help you with. I haven't been in the market for those so I'm not sure where to look for those.
